I participated in a class at Mainstreet Yoga today for the first time in several weeks. The class lasted 75 minutes and included a variety of seated, standing, inverted, and prone poses. A fun feature of today’s class was using the rope wall to support several standing and inverted poses.
I was a little sore, but made myself go out to the garage to do some strength work late in the day. Here is what I did:
Warmup:
Windmill stretch – 20 reps
Workout:
Two-handed swings
16 kg kettlebell – 5 x 20 = 100 reps, 3500 pounds
Chinups – 5 x 1 = 5 reps
Double front squat
16 kg kettlebells – 5 x 5 = 25 reps, 1750 pounds
Farmer carry
20 kg kettlebells – 1 x 100 paces, 88 pounds
Weight: 5338 pounds
Notes: I did 5 sets of 20 swings followed by 1 chinup. The last 3 chinups were easier than the first two.
My legs were sore even after forgetting to do squats on Tuesday, but not sore enough to stop me from doing 5 sets of 5 reps. I really noticed the tension in my abs while squatting today.
